The Crud

Hello!
Sorry I missed class today. The crud kept me home! Nonetheless, I am reading the blog and looking forward to your posts today. I am enjoying the posts that have already gone up and the photos you have taken so far! Please use your time today to upload and/or finish shooting your landscape shots.

Notice I changed the deadline for the shots being due: they are now due on Monday. We will begin our crit on Monday as well.

Blog if you have not yet this week, and please do some planning for the front case. Start deciding which photo you would like to put in, and seniors think of which photo you want in the Senior Showcase, near the art rooms. Also please cut out some letters or words reflecting that this will be senior work!

Lastly, I will offer extra credit to anyone who enters the Poster Contest. Get it all ready and we can print it on Monday. See you then!

*BLACK & WHITE - DUE THURSDAY 05/21 - Three black and white images. Subject matter is open. This is your final! Critique will be on the last day of school!
*FOOD/MACRO - DUE FRIDAY 04/24 - Three food/macro shots, at least one from the in-class shoot. Make the food look beautiful!
*LANDSCAPE - DUE MONDAY 04/13 - 3 Landscape shots utilizing the techniques we learned about in lecture today. It may be three different landscapes; it does not have to be of one spot only.
*PORTRAIT - DUE FRIDAY 03/27 - Pick a subject (this time it must be a human) and shoot portraits of them employing the 20 techniques we discussed during lecture yesterday. You will turn in 3 professional quality shots.
*ISO - DUE THURSDAY 03/05 - ISO 5 photos taken on AV at f/5.6 of the same spot demonstrating the different ISOs.
*POV - DUE WEDNESDAY 2/25 - Point of View - 3 photos demonstrating how point of view/perspective can affect your subject. (You move! Remember the 6 ways to enhance your subject!) I'm giving you more time next week to complete this!
*FOV - DUE FRIDAY 02/20 - Field of View - 3 photos demonstrating field of view; same subject, 3 different fields of view. (You do not move, your camera does!)
*Mergers - DUE FRIDAY 02/20 - Have fun! Shoot 3 photos of mergers! 2 photos must be of the same subject (1 with a merger, 1 without), and the last photo is a fun merger shot! What to avoid!
*Rule of Thirds: 3 photos demonstrating three ways to use the rule of thirds for ONE SUBJECT. 1 photo of your choice - your favorite rule of thirds photo, not from a series. Due 02/04 at end of period.
*Blog - one blog due each week by Friday of that week.
** PHOTO CONTEST** (submissions due Monday February 09, 2009) : http://www.furrondy.net/content/view/140/169/
*Due 1/27/09 at the end of class: SHUTTER SPEED: 3 photos, 2 must demonstrate different shutter speeds (one stop-action, one slow) and 1 photo demonstrating panning (drop into "Hand In" folder)
*Due 1/27/09 at the end of class: APERTURE: 3 photos, must demonstarte 3 different apertures, same subject (drop into "Hand In" folder, see your notes from class if you forget how)
