Heyy Guys! Can I Get Some Tips??

Okay, I know, I know, this may sound strange, but this is driving me crazy. For the people in my class that don’t really know me yet, when I can’t figure things out it just annoys me really bad! But I’ve been wondering, who is having probably getting some decent aperture shots? I have been having such a hard time! I have panning down quit a bit and I thought that would be the hard thing, but for some reason aperture is the thing giving me a hard time. I would really appreciate some tips! To me it seems like I cannot get the photo to not be blurry after f/16, is anyone having that same problem? Honestly, aperture is giving me a hard time and I would love some input, even if it’s some harsh input like someone telling me I’m doing something completely wrong! I do for sure understand what aperture is and how to set it up, maybe I’m just holding the camera wrong, but I honestly don’t know. I just need to put my mind to ease by getting some tips, even if you just verbalize it to me! Thank you guys!

PS: Just thought I would add a photo to brighten up the page. =]

  1. Girl. You must have some kind of master talent. I can't seem to get panning right at all. I thin k we need to trade strengths! =] As far as aperture goes. Umm. Try not to move at all and form my experience, the less zoom the better. Maybe try setting your camera on table to take the shot. Hope that helps!

  2. Tia,
Don't fret! I love that you are trying so hard and that you are putting your struggle out there. Slow down and simply is my advice. Again, the best thing you can do is go where there is lots of light. Tomorrow, go outside. Then take a shot at f/16 or f/22 and you will see everything in focus. (No pun intended!)

  3. If you're using Av, past f/16 or f/18 you're going to want to mount the camera on/to something, because the light exposure times get to be too long for one to make like a statue. Or, as previously suggested find somewhere with an overabundance of light and try then.
