Here were some shots I took for aperture, you can see how the ACS in the background comes into focus but I wasn't sure if this was a good example. Any tips?

    This is a good start Kristina! The difference in aperture is subtle, not very pronounced. To make these two shots work as a juxtaposition you would really need that ACS and the back wall to pop into focus, while the first would just have the shoe in front in focus. Good first attempt!
