Colorful childhood

I found Matt Johnson's pictures very inspiring, beautiful and hypnotizing. I was drawn to his pictures because they revealed simple juxtapositions that immediately triggered my imagination. My favorite picture was the one of his daughter sitting with her large white hat while a "sky blue" crayon soared across the sky. It made me feel childish, playful and imaginative and I found the twist of having a beautiful colored crayon in the mix of a black and white photo intriguing. It reminded me of my childhood when I would read a book that was about a small girl who got a red crayon and decided to scribble all over the place; the walls, the floor, the table, everywhere! And in the pictures of the book, everything was in black and white except the red crayon and the marks it left. In that picture, the fictional girl in my childhood came to life, imagining her crayon coloring her world.
