The Lovely Rule Of Thirds =]

The rule of thirds makes photos look so much better! It really does make someone or even someones stand out more in a picture if you use the rule of thirds in a photo. In some of just my ordinary pictures from out of this class, before I even joined it, I used the rule of thirds without even noticing. Which did make most of the pictures look a lot better. Once you get the rule of thirds down you notice it makes all the pictures better and you also notice how easy it is to actually use the rule of thirds. Here's my second favorite photo I used for the rule of thirds, it's not really good, but I like it since I know the people in it, but it does intersect through Nick and the girl in the orange sweater vertically while it kind of intersects everyones' heads but the guy in blue and Brandi's head horizontally. What do you guys think of it? =]

  1. Nice job Tia!
You are right: even with a mundane subject (often what you might feel at a job where you have to shoot for a magazine or a newspaper, or a stock agency) you can make the photograph so much better by utilizing the rule of thirds. My eye was immediately dawn to the group of students in your photo; and the negative space, and length of the hallway frames it perfectly.

  2. I like how the lockers are such a pale shade. With all that negative space the people really stand out!
